Breaking changes
This page lists, per release, the changes that need a change in your code, with what to do for each. Every change, breaking or not, is in the changelog. Versions are numbered major.minor.patch. Release candidates before 1.0.0 can still change the public API.
1.0.0-rc.2 (2026-10-14)
The changes since 1.0.0-rc.1. That release was never published, so only code written against a build of it needs these changes. Nothing on this list changes how the library behaves at run time. Every change in 1.0.0-rc.2 is in its changelog section.
Implementation types are no longer public. These became internal: the prompt, input, schema and verification
helpers in the IntentSharp.Prompting and IntentSharp.Verification namespaces; the SQL checker and the request
cache's key helper; the checks on intent text and the intent templates in IntentSharp.Intent; the similarity
helpers in IntentSharp.Memory; the index and keyed-entry types nested in AIExtensions; and, in
IntentSharp.Catalog, the intent file parser, with its result and format types, and the rule engine. These stay
public: PromptPlan, IResultJudge, ModelJudge and JudgeVerdict for a custom judge; SqlSafetyReport, which
PlanAsync and QueryResult.Safety return; DatabaseSchema, which a custom ISchemaDiscovery returns; and the
rest of IntentSharp.Memory and IntentSharp.Catalog, including the memory classes and FileIntentCatalog. If
your code used one of the internal types:
- for the JSON options IntentSharp reads and writes values with, use
IntentSharpJson.SerializerOptions; - to check intent files, load them with
FileIntentCatalogand readCurrent.Problems; - for anything else, write to licensing@c2consultants.net with what you used it for.
The license key checking types are no longer public. Read a client's license with IntentClient.License. The
event id of the license notices is LicenseInfo.NoticeEventId. The public licensing types are LicenseEdition,
LicensePayload, LicenseState, LicenseStatus, LicenseException, LicenseInfo and ReleaseInfo.
DatabaseSchema.ToPromptText is no longer public. DatabaseSchema itself stays public.
The LicenseInfo values are properties, not constants. LicenseName, Licensor, ContactEmail,
PurchaseUrl and FreeUseSummary keep their values. Code that used one where C# needs a constant, such as an
attribute argument, a case label, a const field or a default parameter value, no longer compiles; read the value
at run time instead.
1.0.0-rc.1 (2026-10-12)
The first IntentSharp release candidate, never published. There is no earlier IntentSharp version, so nothing in it breaks existing code.
