System requirements

.NET 8, 9 or 10

Each IntentSharp package holds a build for .NET 8, one for .NET 9 and one for .NET 10. Your project can target any of the three, and NuGet picks the matching build. To build your project you need the .NET SDK for its target framework: the .NET 8 SDK or later.

The roadmap shows which frameworks the tests run on. The support policy says which versions receive fixes.

Any operating system .NET runs on

IntentSharp has no code for one operating system in particular. The memory that keeps its records in a SQLite file uses Microsoft.Data.Sqlite, which brings the native SQLite library for the platforms it supports.

A model provider and your own API key

IntentSharp sends each call to a model through a provider. It sells no model access: you need an account and an API key with the provider you choose, and the provider bills you for each call.

Provider How IntentSharp reaches it Package
OpenAI The Chat Completions API IntentSharp
Anthropic The Messages API IntentSharp
Any Microsoft.Extensions.AI IChatClient, such as Azure OpenAI or a local model on Ollama Through the chat client you pass IntentSharp.Extensions.AI
A provider of your own Your implementation of IAIProvider IntentSharp

Providers shows how to set each one up, and a second provider as a fallback.

Outbound HTTPS to your provider, and nothing else

The only network calls IntentSharp makes go to the providers you configure: api.openai.com and api.anthropic.com over HTTPS for the two built-in providers, unless you set another address. The license key is checked inside your application, with no network call. What is sent lists what each call carries.

The packages IntentSharp depends on

Release 1.0.0-rc.2 depends on these packages. NuGet adds them, and the packages they depend on, when you add IntentSharp. Each version is a minimum: a newer version in your project is used instead.

Package Depends on
IntentSharp Microsoft.Data.Sqlite 10.0.12; Microsoft.Extensions.DependencyInjection.Abstractions, Microsoft.Extensions.Http, Microsoft.Extensions.Logging.Abstractions, Microsoft.Extensions.Options and Microsoft.Extensions.Options.ConfigurationExtensions 9.0.9; System.Text.Json 9.0.9 on .NET 8 only
IntentSharp.Catalog IntentSharp; JsonSchema.Net 9.4.1; YamlDotNet 18.1.0
IntentSharp.Extensions.AI IntentSharp and IntentSharp.Catalog; Microsoft.Extensions.AI.Abstractions 10.10.1

Third-party notices lists the licenses of these packages.
