Licensing
IntentSharp is commercial software, sold by C2Consultants LLC. You can evaluate it free for 30 days. Production use, and any use by or for a business after the evaluation, needs a paid license. This page covers the license key and buying; the terms themselves are in the license and the commercial license guide.
Add your license key
The key belongs to the application that uses IntentSharp. Set it in one of three ways.
In code, on the builder:
var client = new IntentClientBuilder()
.UseProvidersFromEnvironment()
.WithLicenseKey("YOUR-LICENSE-KEY")
.Build();
In the application's configuration, at IntentSharp:Options:LicenseKey, for example in appsettings.json:
{
"IntentSharp": {
"Options": {
"LicenseKey": "YOUR-LICENSE-KEY"
}
}
}
In the environment variable IntentSharp__Options__LicenseKey, which .NET configuration reads as
IntentSharp:Options:LicenseKey. In bash:
export IntentSharp__Options__LicenseKey="YOUR-LICENSE-KEY"
In PowerShell:
$env:IntentSharp__Options__LicenseKey = "YOUR-LICENSE-KEY"
The configuration value and the environment variable apply when you register IntentSharp with
services.AddIntentSharp(configuration), which reads the IntentSharp section. ASP.NET Core and the .NET generic
host include environment variables in the application's configuration by default. When you build the client with
IntentClientBuilder yourself, pass the key to WithLicenseKey.
The library checks the key on the machine it runs on and makes no network call to do so. Keep the key out of source control, as you would an API key: a license key is confidential to its licensee, and must not be shared or published.
Without a key
IntentSharp runs without a key. It writes a reminder to the application's logs, through the logging you give the
client (WithLoggerFactory on the builder, or the application's logging when you use AddIntentSharp), and your
calls run as they would with a key.
Running without a key does not change the license: the evaluation is free for 30 days, and business or production use after that needs a paid license.
What a paid key covers
A paid license is an annual subscription. Its key covers every version of IntentSharp released during the term you paid for, major versions included. When you renew, you receive a renewed key, which extends that cover to the versions released during the new term.
If the subscription lapses, you can keep using the versions your last key covers, without updates, fixes or support. Versions released after the maintenance date in your key need a renewed key.
Editions and prices
There are five editions. Developer, Team, Business and Enterprise differ in how many developers they cover and in the support response; OEM / redistribution is for shipping IntentSharp inside a product you sell or distribute. Every edition allows unlimited deployments. The pricing page lists each edition's price, what it covers, and the rules that apply to every edition.
Evaluate
Every edition can be evaluated free for 30 days, on development and test systems, before you buy. Ask for an evaluation key with your work email; the key arrives by email. One evaluation is issued per company email domain in any 365 days.
Buy
Choose an edition on the pricing page. The license key arrives by email once the payment is received. For a quote or an invoice, a three-year term, the non-profit and education discounts, or an OEM license, write to licensing@c2consultants.net with your company's legal name and billing address, the edition and the number of developers.
Buying means accepting the terms of sale and the license.
